On March 19, Dien Bien Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) organized commendation and reward for students and teachers participating in fostering excellent students at national levels, school year 2025-2026.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Dien Bien province participates in the National Excellent High School Student Selection Exam with 98 students from 10 subjects, including: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English and Chinese.
This is the 3rd consecutive year that Dien Bien province has the highest number of exam subjects and the highest number of students participating.
At the National Excellent High School Graduation Exam for the 2025-2026 school year, Dien Bien province had 27 students win prizes. Among them, there was 1 first prize, 4 second prizes, 8 third prizes and 14 consolation prizes (9/10 subjects won prizes).

It is known that the national excellent student team of the province has 93 students from Le Quy Don Specialized High School; 5 students from schools: Muong Ang Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, Na Son Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, Dien Bien Phu High School and Provincial Ethnic Minority Boarding High School.
The team has 47 students taking the advanced exam (11th grade) and 25 students participating in the 2nd exam. Dien Bien is the only northern mountainous province with excellent students winning the first national prize in Mathematics.
In particular, one student was selected to participate in the Asia-Pacific regional exam and the International Mathematical Olympiad team selection exam.
In the 2026-2027 school year, leaders of Dien Bien Department of Education and Training said that they will continue to focus on training and improving the quality of management staff, teachers and trainers from the grassroots to provincial levels.
Along with that, select capable, dedicated and experienced teachers to assign to teach and train the team in a reasonable and scientific way.

At the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Doat - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee praised and congratulated the students who achieved excellent results at the National Excellent High School Graduation Exam.
At the same time, he acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the education sector, management officials and teachers in fostering excellent students.
The Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee also requested the education sector and localities to plan and arrange the school network. Especially, pay attention to students who are ethnic minorities and highland students.
Along with that, focus on training high-quality students at Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary Schools in border communes.
