On April 16, Tran Duy Hung Secondary School (Yen Hoa Ward, Hanoi) organized Book and Reading Culture Day for the 2025 - 2026 school year with the theme "Reading books today, steadily moving forward tomorrow". This is an opportunity for students to learn, nurture reading habits and spread their love of books.


At the festival, students had the opportunity to learn about history through the introduction of the book "Red Rain" by author Chu Lai. At the same time, they were told historical stories by teachers about 81 days and nights of fighting and protecting Quang Tri ancient citadel.
Sharing at the program, Distinguished Teacher Le Kim Anh - Principal of Tran Duy Hung Secondary School - emphasized that the festival has educational significance and helps students access reading culture, gradually forming reading habits.
Reading books can nourish the soul, making the spiritual life of each student richer, knowing how to love, share and empathize.
Historical books help children understand more about the heroism and fierceness of the war, thereby becoming more proud of the nation's history, and deeper aware of their own responsibilities" - Meritorious Teacher Le Kim Anh shared.

In addition to book introduction activities, Tran Duy Hung Secondary School also summarized and awarded prizes for competitions and pre-event series activities to outstanding collectives and individuals.
In which, the "Supporting Books - Giving Knowledge" movement "contribute a small book, read many good books" received 5,179 books after 2 weeks of launching. The school received 33 video entries for the Book review contest and 450 works in the Bookmark Design contest.
Le Dong Nhi - a 7A1 student at Tran Duy Hung Secondary School - a team that won first prize in the Book review contest - said that stemming from her love for history and admiration for martyr Nguyen Van Thac, she and her friends chose to introduce the book "Forever Age of Twenty".
The sacrifice when I was very young and the notes in martyr Nguyen Van Thac's diary helped me understand more about the difficulties of the war.
The book reminds us to be responsible for studying, to be grateful for the merits of our predecessors and to know how to contribute to the development of the country" - Dong Nhi said.
Also at the festival, students have the opportunity to participate in programs "Exchange vouchers for books", "Exchange books for gifts". All books received from student support and book exchange activities will be sent to the school library.
Donating 36 books to the library, Tran Lam An - a 6A10 student at Tran Duy Hung Secondary School - shared that he hopes the books can help students form reading habits and a love for books.
Each student can form a reading habit through their favorite genres. Reading culture helps students gain more knowledge and have healthy hobbies instead of relying on entertainment on electronic devices," Lam An added.
