On August 24, more than 110,000 preschool children and 1st grade students in Can Tho City officially returned to school, starting to get acquainted with the new learning journey. Among these are 51,245 1st grade students and 58,848 preschool children (including 5,987 nursery children and 52,861 preschool children).
On this occasion, Director of the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of Can Tho City Tran Thi Huyen visited and encouraged young children on the first day of school.
After initial confusion, the children quickly integrated thanks to the dedicated care of teachers and the eagerness to explore a new environment.

Previously, to prepare for the school opening day, the entire system of kindergartens and primary schools in the city proactively reviewed facilities, arranged personnel and prepared conditions to serve teaching, learning, and student care. In which, the "6 Clear" principle (clear people, clear tasks, clear progress, clear results, clear responsibilities and clear resources) was emphasized in the process of task implementation.

School boards also closely follow the grassroots level, inspecting each item from classrooms, schoolyards, tables and chairs to living and studying conditions for students. For preschool children and 1st grade students, schools pay special attention to creating a friendly and safe environment, helping them reduce bewilderment in their early days at school.
Besides the school's preparation, parents also play an important role in helping children get used to the new environment. The coordination between family and school right from the early days of school contributes to creating a stable psychology, helping children quickly integrate into the classroom.
