On April 11, the Hanoi City-level calculator math competition was officially re-organized at Cau Giay Secondary School (Hanoi), attracting about 400 students from secondary and high schools in the area.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's exam gathers about 400 students. Contestants include secondary and high school students; in which each high school sends a maximum of 2 11th or 12th grade students, each secondary school sends 1 8th or 9th grade student.

Through solving problems with the support of a calculator, students not only practice accurate calculation skills but also develop logical thinking, system thinking and the ability to analyze problems scientifically.
Ms. Tran Thanh Thao - General Director of Binh Tay Import-Export Joint Stock Company (BITEX) - the unit coordinating the exam organization shared: "We believe that bringing technology tools into learning not only helps students solve problems faster, but more importantly, expands the approach and mathematical thinking. The return of the exam to Hanoi after 8 years is not only a continuation, but also the starting point for stronger innovations in teaching and learning Mathematics.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Hien - Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training shared: Through the Contest, Hanoi Department of Education and Training aims to assess and develop two core competencies in students.
First, mathematical thinking and reasoning ability - helping students deeply understand the nature of the problem, form a logical and scientific approach;
Second, problem-solving ability - demonstrating the ability to apply knowledge flexibly and creatively in diverse situations.
However, the important thing is that students need to know how to use tools reasonably, harmoniously combined with mathematical thinking, avoid dependence, thereby maximizing personal abilities" - he emphasized.
