Ms. Huong said that at that time, each class of students happily cheered loudly, lined up in pairs, went to Hoan Kiem Lake and sang loudly the song "National Guard" by musician Phan Huynh Dieu under the guidance of the music teacher.
On the day the capital was liberated, the soldiers with red flags with yellow stars, green helmets, and strong gait marched to take over the capital. Since that historic moment, Hanoi has changed dramatically as it is today.
"Every time I remember the moment when we welcomed the victorious army back, officially liberating the capital, I feel so proud and moved! So happy! At the writing contest award ceremony held this morning (October 24), runner-up Nguyen Tran Huyen My participated in the Hanoi Memories Writing Contest for the first time and won the prize with her work "Ancient alleys winding through Hanoi's Old Quarter".
Speaking at the award ceremony, runner-up Nguyen Tran Huyen My said that this was the first time she had received an award related to literature and journalism. She felt very proud and honored.

The award ceremony of the 3rd "Memories of Hanoi" Writing Contest in 2024, organized by Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, took place on the morning of October 24 in Hanoi.
At the award ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper, Head of the Writing Contest Organizing Committee - said that through the contest, memories of the Capital in the flow of history are vividly and diversely recreated.
After 3 months of launching, the Organizing Committee received the response and support of many readers at home and abroad, with more than 700 entries from authors of many ages and localities.
At the award ceremony, poet Tran Dang Khoa - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Writers Association, Head Judge of the Contest - said that the special memories kept by the authors for the capital Hanoi, preserving the "beauty of the capital".
At the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 5 Consolation Prizes.
