On the morning of September 6, according to Lao Dong reporters, due to the unpredictable developments of storm No. 3 Yagi, schools and educational institutions in Thai Binh province have notified students of all grades to stay home from September 6 to September 7 to avoid the storm.
In many cases, students received late notices so they came to school and then left.
Ms. Thu Hang (30 years old, residing in Vu Phuc commune, Thai Binh city) - said: "My eldest child is in a 5-year-old kindergarten class, which just started yesterday. Last night, when I saw the rain, thunder, and strong winds, I was very worried about how to take my child to school today and how I would go to work. At dawn this morning, the teachers texted to inform that the children would be off for 2 days to avoid the storm. So I had to take my child to my grandparents' house before going to work at the company. On the way, I saw some small trees falling onto the road, and the authorities are currently cleaning up."
On the morning of September 6, the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh issued Official Dispatch No. 1001/SGDĐT-VP to the Departments of Education and Training of districts and cities; High Schools, Provincial Continuing Education Centers and District and City Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers regarding school closures to prevent and combat storm No. 3 in 2024.
Accordingly, the document requires the above schools and units to closely monitor the storm's developments and let students take a day off on Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7.
Educational institutions are on duty 24/7, maintaining regular contact with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents. Promptly repair damage (if any), clean and sanitize classrooms immediately after storms to ensure safety, cleanliness, and prevent epidemics in schools.
According to Lao Dong reporters, due to the influence of storm No. 3 Yagi, from 10:00 p.m. last night, September 5, in many places in Thai Binh province, there were heavy thunderstorms, thick thunder, followed by heavy rain for a period of more than 10 minutes.
In Thai Binh City, some small trees fell onto the road, some roofs of houses and business headquarters were blown away by the wind. Many places in the province had localized power outages at some points.
This morning, September 6, Thai Binh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company deployed many teams of officials and workers to clean up fallen trees and small branches after last night's short thunderstorm; at the same time, they trimmed branches and twigs of trees at risk of breaking or being uprooted on the streets of Thai Binh City.
