On May 10, at Can Tho University, the Organizing Committee of the 35th National Mechanical Olympic Competition, 2025 - Southern region organized the summary and award ceremony.
The contest is organized by the Vietnam Mechanical Association, Can Tho University is the host.
In 2025, the Southern region will have more than 532 contestants from 19 teams from 19 Southern higher education institutions participating. The contest opened on April 13, including subjects such as Mechanical Engineering, Materials Resistance, structural Mechanics, Hydropower, etc.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Loc, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said that the contest has the participation of guidance from generations of students, many of whom have participated and won prizes in previous Mechanical Olympic competitions, now becoming professors, associate professors, doctors... continuing to enthusiastically train the next generations.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 273 individual prizes, including 7 First prizes, 42 Second prizes, 131 Third prizes, and 93 Encouragement prizes to students with excellent achievements in the competition; 6 team prizes and 2 collectives with achievements in guiding students to participate in the competition, achieving high achievements.
The 36th National Mechanical Olympic Competition, in 2026 - the Southern region will be hosted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
The National Mechanical Olympic Competition is one of the important annual activities to encourage and motivate students in universities and academies to study and research mechanical subjects; create opportunities for exchange to improve knowledge and the quality of mechanical teaching in technical schools; discover talented students, train them to become experts and lecturers in the field of mechanical engineering.
