Hung Yen - Provincial People's Committee discusses solutions to invest in and develop two specialized schools to improve the quality of key education.

On January 20, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to implement Notice No. 176/TB-UBND dated December 30, 2025 on the conclusions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at working sessions with Hung Yen High School for the Gifted and Thai Binh High School for the Gifted.

According to the draft Project "Developing Hung Yen High School for the Gifted in the period 2025-2030, vision to 2045", by 2030, the school will have a scale of 51 specialized classes with about 1,785 students. The school is synchronously invested in infrastructure and modern teaching equipment, gradually approaching regional and international standards.

The project uses state budget funds, prioritizing the construction of a new campus with an area of about 7ha in Pho Hien University Area, ensuring full blocks of classrooms, laboratories, dormitories, sports areas and auxiliary items.

The project also identifies key tasks and solutions such as developing a team of high-quality teachers, increasing the proportion of teachers above standards; promoting teaching of science subjects in English; strengthening cooperation and professional exchange at home and abroad; building Hung Yen Specialized High School to become a center for fostering excellent students of the province and the region.

Regarding Thai Binh High School for the Gifted, school leaders said that the scale of students in recent years has continued to increase, while existing facilities have revealed many limitations, not meeting the requirements of teaching two sessions/day and new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The school proposes to invest in building a new 5-6 story building block with auxiliary items; and at the same time renovate and repair the existing 6-story building block, dormitory area and general renovation of pedagogical landscape.

Infrastructure upgrades are aimed at ensuring sufficient classrooms according to the scale of development, improving living conditions for boarding students, meeting the requirements of access for students with disabilities and improving the quality of the educational environment.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Nghiem highly appreciated the proactiveness of the Department of Education and Training and two specialized high schools in implementing Notice No. 176/TB-UBND.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Nghiem emphasized that the province places high expectations on the quality of education, in which the two specialized high schools must be truly worthy, becoming places to foster and train talented people, serving the needs of developing high-quality human resources.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Nghiem requested the Department of Education and Training to absorb discussion opinions, review the goals and tasks of school network planning, ensuring suitability with the population size, urban development, high-tech industry and the Free Economic Zone of the province; and at the same time assign relevant departments and branches to complete the two projects and report to the Provincial People's Committee in January 2026.
