On August 21, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province to organize a Conference to sign a cooperation agreement to develop experiential education.
The conference aims to strengthen the link between the education sector and the tourism sector, step by step building experiential education products suitable for the 2018 general education program, contributing to the development of qualities, abilities and practical skills for students.
At the conference, delegates were introduced to experiential education models associated with school tourism, red addresses, heritage, Net Zero education; and shared experiences and orientations for organizing activities suitable for the 2018 General Education Program.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. La Thi Thuy - Director of Vinh Long Department of Education and Training - said that experiential activities associated with tourism help students exploit local cultural and historical values, creating a safe and practical learning environment.
According to Ms. Thuy, career guidance activities associated with local reality not only equip students with knowledge but also help students apply knowledge to practice, discover themselves, form responsibilities, and strengthen coordination between the two sectors.
Also at the Conference, Mr. Duong Hoang Sum - Director of Vinh Long Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: The signing is an important milestone to show the determination in building a close coordination mechanism between sectors.
The cooperation program aims to promote the strengths of each unit, gradually forming quality and safe experiential education programs that meet the needs of students and orient local tourism development.
This connection contributes to creating an open education ecosystem, turning cultural values, historical heritage, traditional craft villages and the Southern riverine nature into a vivid source of "visual teaching aids" for the younger generation.
In the coming time, the units will focus on building school tourism products, combining traditional education, heritage preservation with environmental protection, both improving the quality of education and promoting the image of the homeland.
