On April 19, Hue City Police informed that the unit's forces simultaneously launched a campaign to handle the situation of teenagers gathering, swerving, zigzagging, and causing public disorder in the area.
Functional forces deployed patrols and inspections on key roads such as Hung Vuong, Le Loi, Ba Trieu, Nguyen Hue, Pham Van Dong, Vo Nguyen Giap and surrounding areas - places where crowded gatherings and motorbike taxis often occur, causing insecurity and disorder.
Task forces combined public patrols, camouflage ambushes, mobile controls and set up checkpoints to promptly detect violations such as not attaching license plates, changing license plates, not wearing helmets, modifiing vehicles, swerving, zigzagging, and carrying weapons.
On the evening of April 18, the police discovered and handled 28 traffic violations with 51 violations. The main violations included no rearview mirrors, no vehicle registration certificate, people from 16 to under 18 years old driving vehicles over 50cc, not wearing helmets, no driver's license, and alcohol concentration violations.
Functional forces temporarily seized 20 motorbikes, 2 electric vehicles and 6 driver's licenses. Notably, the police discovered 1 drug-positive case.
In addition, a group of 3 teenagers had acts of carrying too many people, going into one-way traffic, swerving, zigzagging and crashing into the barriers of functional forces.
During the patrol, the police also discovered 3 groups with 16 subjects showing signs of livestreaming to cheer for illegal racing. These cases were summoned, filed and handed over to the local police for management.
According to Hue City Police, the campaign aims to restore urban order, ensure traffic safety, and maintain a safe environment for people and tourists.
