Traditional Mid-Autumn toys are being restored to prepare for the "Lluu Trang" exhibition, bringing memories of old Hanoi back to the Old Quarter.

At 22 Hang Buom, artists, artisans and young people are busy completing the final stages for the "Lluu Trang" exhibition. From bamboo, paper and colored lines, traditional Mid-Autumn toys gradually take shape, evoking memories of an old moon season of Hanoi people.

The exhibition space is filled with red, yellow, green colors, interspersed with the sound of bamboo splitting, paper rolling, mixing colors and stories about the profession. In the last hours before the opening, each stroke, detail on each work is meticulously cared for, completing meticulous products to introduce to the public.

The exhibition gathers art units founded by young people such as The Annam, Cua Na and Thong dong. With traditional handicraft techniques and natural materials such as bamboo, paper, glue, artists recreate the world of ancient Mid-Autumn toys through sets of mascots, ritual heads, paper doctors, five-fruit trays and lion heads.

With the theme "Luu trang pho co 2026 - Journey connecting heritage, spreading Vietnamese cultural values", the exhibition introduces models and artifacts of Mid-Autumn toys associated with the memories of many generations of Hanoians such as star lanterns, carp lanterns, crab lanterns, shrimp lanterns... along with paper doctors, paper horses and five-fruit trays. These works are explored, restored and created by young people with the companionship of artisans and researchers, thereby bringing the ancient Mid-Autumn cultural values back to contemporary life.

The exhibition has the participation of many artists and young creative communities, showing that the story of heritage preservation is being continued in new ways, close to life.

Through this exhibition, I hope to contribute a small part to bring heritage back to life, bringing a new shape and creativity to continue the cultural heritage of the country.
