Nghe An - The province directs to strengthen inspection and handling of food safety violations during the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival.

On September 8, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that the province is implementing an inter-sectoral inspection on the compliance with legal regulations on food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2026.

According to Decision No. 3945/QD-UBND, inspection activities focus on organizations and individuals producing, processing, trading, importing food and providing food services. In which, items that are widely consumed during the Mid-Autumn Festival will be deeply inspected.

In addition to direct inspections at production and business establishments, the inter-sectoral delegation also assessed the state management of food safety in some communes and wards in the province.

Through inspection, functional forces will detect violations of food safety, establish dossiers and records of administrative violations and handle them according to their authority. Cases beyond their authority or of complex nature will be transferred to competent authorities for handling according to regulations.

The People's Committee of Nghe An province assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Health, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies to handle or advise on handling complex violations discovered through inspection.

Communes and wards are responsible for coordinating and creating conditions for the inspection team to perform their tasks, and at the same time improve the responsibility of food safety management in the area.

The inter-sectoral inspection team is headed by Mr. Le Duc Anh - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade. Members include representatives of market management forces, Department of Health, Sub-Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development, Provincial Police and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

The inspection phase will be implemented from September 5 to October 6, 2026, combining planned inspections and surprise inspections.
