Workers are happy because of stable income
A cooperative (Cooperative) purchasing chili in Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh province, in addition to covering local chili sources, the cooperative also creates year-round jobs for rural workers with stable income.
As in the case of Mr. Truong Van Thanh, the main breadwinner in a poor family, in Cau Ngang district, Tra Vinh province, there was a time when he intended to work in Ho Chi Minh City or Binh Duong to have a more stable income from growing chili at home.
Mr. Thanh said that before, his family always had to face unstable and unstable agricultural prices, with purchases ranging from only 19,000 to 21,000 VND/kg, making his family's life always in a difficult situation and having to calculate very carefully to cover essential needs.
Since joining Xuan Thanh Cooperative, the cooperative has not only helped the family grow chili with modern techniques and technology but also committed to paying a fixed salary of 7.5 million VND per month, a stable income that helps the family no longer have to worry about making ends meet, Mr. Thanh added.
Also a worker in Xuan Thanh Cooperative, Ms. Vo Thu Thao (Chau Thanh District, Tra Vinh Province) said that her work was not stable before, and she had to think about going to work far away many times to have enough money to take care of her children.
"However, since working at the cooperative's chili processing plant, everything has changed significantly. Stable work and income from cooperatives have helped me have enough to cover my living expenses, and I am also very assured because I no longer have to worry about unemployment, Ms. Thao confided.
Ensuring output, creating jobs all year round
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luan - Director of Xuan Thanh Agricultural and Production Service Cooperative - said that Xuan Thanh Cooperative was established in 2016 and now has 55 members participating.
According to Mr. Luan, thanks to the output guarantee contract, workers in Xuan Thanh Cooperative not only have stable income but can also expand production scale, creating jobs for many rural workers, thereby contributing to local economic development.
Currently, workers at Xuan Thanh Cooperative participate in work from growing chili, taking care of trees, harvesting, classifying to packaging products. Each stage is meticulously implemented, ensuring quality, helping to increase productivity and create stable income for rural workers.
With more than 70 rural workers in Chau Thanh district, their stable income is about 300,000 VND/day. This income helps workers cover their family expenses.
The cooperative has helped retain workers, creating motivation for them to stick together and develop the economy right in their homeland, minimizing migration and reducing unemployment in rural areas, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luan emphasized.
