HCMC - Vietnam Fashion Bank with the project "Hope Fashion" helps people with disabilities overcome body image complexes.

On January 14, 2025, Green Fashion Social Enterprise Joint Stock Company (non-profit enterprise) in collaboration with the Vietnam Fund for Children with Disabilities and the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Ho Chi Minh City and the Center for Vocational Education for People with Disabilities and Orphans of Ho Chi Minh City, launched the Fashion Bank program and introduced the project "Fashion of Hope".

Vietnam Fashion Bank is not only a solution to protect the environment but also an initiative to bridge love, bringing opportunities to the disadvantaged and disadvantaged.

Fashion products that are wasted or no longer used such as clothes, shoes, backpacks, hats, accessories, stuffed animals, etc., instead of being thrown away and becoming a burden on the environment, the Fashion Bank will extend their life cycle through collection, classification and redistribution through the channels of the Vietnam Fashion Bank to places where they are needed, to people in difficult circumstances instead of being thrown away or polluting the environment.

Unusable items are recycled into new materials or recycled fashion products, helping to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions from the industry.

On the occasion of this launching ceremony, the Vietnam Fashion Bank Program also launched its first project called "Hope Fashion" with the mission of creating a connection between 3 factors: people with disabilities, fashion, and crafts to send a message of hope and positive change to the community.

In addition to the goal of helping people with disabilities feel more confident about their clothing, the project also aims to help people with disabilities of working age integrate and advance in the community through vocational training and job creation so that people with disabilities and disadvantaged people can create recycled and "handmade" fashion products to generate economic income.

Ms. Duong Thi Bich Diep - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Fund for Children with Disabilities - said: "This is a meaningful initiative and very consistent with the Fund's goal of providing opportunities and support for people with disabilities and children in difficult circumstances. Immediately after the signing ceremony, the Vietnam Fund for Children with Disabilities will coordinate with the Vietnam Fashion Bank and the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans in Ho Chi Minh City to organize a garment training course for people with disabilities at the Vocational Education Center for People with Disabilities and Orphans in Ho Chi Minh City".

Also at the program, meaningful gifts of food and necessities were given to disadvantaged and disabled children at the center, with a gift value of more than 300,000 VND/gift.
