At the Workshop "Communication of knowledge of proactive health care for youth in Hung Yen province in 2026" held on June 18, at Hung Yen University of Technology and Education, organized by the Central Center for Health Communication - Education (Ministry of Health) in coordination with the Vietnam Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Association (VBA), Mr. Vu Manh Cuong - Director of the Central Center for Health Communication - Education - emphasized that youth are the core force in the country's development. Equipping young people with knowledge to proactively take care of their health early will contribute to reducing the burden of disease, while forming a healthy and responsible generation of citizens for the community.
Dr. Nguyen Thuy Linh - Head of the Department of Nutrition and Diet, Hanoi Medical University Hospital - pointed out many common nutritional problems in young people. According to experts, many young people have the habit of skipping breakfast, eating at irregular times, and regularly using fast food and sugary drinks. In addition, consuming too much salt and fat but lacking green vegetables and fruits is also a worrying situation.

These habits can lead to nutritional imbalances, increase the risk of overweight, obesity, metabolic disorders, and affect learning, working, and long-term health.
From the above situation, experts recommend that young people need to build a scientific diet, ensuring sufficient groups of nutrients, controlling the amount of sugar, salt and fat in their daily diet. Maintaining breakfast, increasing physical activity and monitoring the amount of energy loaded into the body are also important factors to help improve physical strength and endurance.
One content that received much attention at the conference was the skill of reading and understanding information on food labels. MSc. Dr. Ly Thu Hien - Head of Health Education Department, Central Center for Communication - Health Education - guided students on how to recognize important indicators such as energy value, added sugar content, nutritional components, food additives and alcohol concentration on product labels. In addition, the conference also brought many attractive interactive activities such as nutrition knowledge learning games, alcohol unit calculation practices and guidance on reading food and beverage labels.
Through the program, experts hope to help young people raise awareness, adjust unreasonable nutritional habits, and at the same time become positive nuclei to spread knowledge and healthy lifestyles to families, friends and the community.
Ms. Trinh Thi Van Giang, Vice President of the Vietnam Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Association, said that in the context of the increasingly diverse food and beverage market, equipping young people with skills to choose and use products intelligently will help them proactively protect their health.
