Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan on implementing the Project "Supporting women's startups in the period 2026 - 2035", to concretize the Government's policy on promoting women's economic empowerment, contributing to the development of the private economy and implementing gender equality in the economic field.
According to the plan, in the 10-year period, the province focuses on building a friendly and modern startup ecosystem, creating favorable conditions for women to start businesses and develop businesses based on the application of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and green transformation.
The plan is divided into two phases (2026 - 2030 and 2031 - 2035), with the overarching goal of improving the quality of operations of businesses, cooperatives and business households owned by women.
In the period 2026 - 2030, the province strives to advise and support legal and business knowledge for 1,550 businesses, cooperatives, and business households; and at the same time create conditions for at least 1,550 startup ideas to access preferential credit capital sources.
Notably, the province sets a target that by 2030, the proportion of female directors and business owners will reach about 30%. Support activities are oriented to be linked to new economic development trends, emphasizing the application of technology, digital transformation and green transformation in production and business.
A highlight of the plan is to support women-owned businesses to access and apply the ESG (Environment - Society - Governance) standard framework, thereby improving competitiveness and moving towards sustainable development.
Along with that, programs to improve digital capacity, popularize digital economic skills such as the "Digital Literacy" movement and the formation of a startup mentor network will be widely implemented, from urban to rural areas.
The plan also pays special attention to vulnerable women, including women with disabilities, poor households, single women, ethnic minority women and those affected by domestic violence.
The province prioritizes building sustainable livelihood projects in remote and isolated areas, associated with exploiting indigenous resources, restoring traditional occupations, creating stable livelihoods and legitimate wealth opportunities for women.
The implementation of the plan is expected to create a strong change in the development of women's businesses, contributing to promoting local economic growth in a comprehensive and sustainable direction, while affirming the role and position of women in the new era.
