Returning as a guest judge of "Hãy nghe tôi hát 2026", Doan Trang shared many experiences about refreshing familiar songs and the journey to maintain a position in the hearts of the audience.
According to the female singer, each classic work carries a big imprint from previous versions. Therefore, the performer not only needs to sing well but also find a new way to handle it, helping the audience recognize the personal color.
People must remember that this is a work that has lived through many generations. When it is sung again with a new, modern mindset, it is an extremely big challenge. If you can do it, the work will become very valuable," Doan Trang commented.
The voice of "Toc hat" believes that when the audience remembers a singer with their own identity, that person has achieved certain success. However, artists still need to be creative, adapt to tastes without losing core values.
Observing the young generation of singers, Doan Trang highly appreciates their dynamism, sensitivity and ability to utilize technology. Artists today have more conditions to realize ideas, promote products and reach the public.
However, fame coming too quickly can also become a challenge. Doan Trang said: "You are very intelligent, sharp and lucky to live in the technology era. But if you become famous very quickly without knowing how to create long-term value, songs and projects will also easily slip away with time.
According to the female singer, professional lifespan is not only decided by musical products. The way artists behave, their ability to inspire, and the values they bring to the community also affect their position in the public's hearts.
Looking back at more than two decades of working, Doan Trang said that each period has its own meaning. She once went through a time when Vietnamese artists performed abroad but there was no media crew, stylist or makeup artist to accompany them. Singers had to prepare almost everything themselves, but those trips became precious memories.
After getting married and becoming a mother, Doan Trang continued to operate in many roles such as singer, judge, coach and producer. She also created conditions for her daughter Sol to get acquainted with music but did not put pressure on her to continue her career.
Doan Trang said that the music products or the joint appearances of the two mothers and daughters all take place naturally, considered as memories in Sol's childhood. If her daughter chooses art, she will accompany; if Sol wants to go in a different direction, the family will still respect her.
The female singer believes that her passion has never been lost, only the role changes with each stage. Whether standing on stage, sitting in the judge's seat or working behind the scenes, she still wants to maintain seriousness and responsibility to the profession.
