“Wongyeong” depicts the passionate life journey of Queen Wongyeong (Cha Joo Young), who dreamed of a new world at the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty and brought her husband Lee Bang Won to become the third king and co-founder of the government with him.
On October 7, IZE reported that the drama “Wongyeong” is scheduled to air on tvN on Mondays and Tuesdays starting in January 2025. The drama will also air simultaneously on Tving on the same day.
“Wongyeong” will consist of 12 episodes on both platforms, although the content may vary slightly. tvN will air the TV version, while Tving will air the OTT (streaming) version.
Similar to tvN and Tving's previous projects such as "No Gain No Love", some scenes may be edited depending on the platform. There are also discussions about a 19+ rating on Tving, depending on the content.
In addition to the 12 main episodes, “Wongyeong” will release 2 prequel episodes exclusively on Tving, not available on tvN. This separate release is expected to give subscribers a unique experience.
Besides the content, the media has high expectations for the performance of Cha Joo Young - Song Hye Kyo's co-star in the movie "The Glory".
Taking on the role of Cho Hye Jeong - one of the people who bullies the female lead Moon Dong Eun, Cha Joo Young once shared that this was an important role in her career that helped her name spread and gain attention from the audience.
