Opening the program, the female singer brought two old photos as "relics of time". One photo was taken when she was only 5 years old, recording memories of a hardworking mother raising four children alone. "At that time, I didn't fully understand, but later thinking back, I realized how much my mother saved so that her children could have things that seemed very simple," she shared.
The remaining photo is her first sea trip with her family - a rare memory in difficult years. As the youngest child, Nhu Hao said that she was protected and yielded by her siblings and mother, so she rarely faced the deprivations like her older siblings.
A major turning point came in 11th grade, when she decided to leave her hometown of Tay Ninh to go to Ho Chi Minh City to study culture and pursue vocal music. Deciding to leave her family early was not easy, but Nhu Hao received special support from her mother. According to the female singer, her mother once had a passion for singing but could not pursue it to the end. Therefore, she placed her faith in her daughter as a way to extend her unfinished dream.
Because my mother couldn't realize her dream, she wanted me to do it for her. That became the biggest motivation for me to move forward," Nhu Hao said. The image of a father proudly showing off his daughter appearing on TV is also a source of encouragement to help her be more steadfast on the artistic path.
In the program, Nhu Hao also performed the song "Mother with the Ferry and the River of Childhood" - a composition by the late musician Bac Son. This is part of a music project that she is implementing, including many works by the late musician, including songs that have never been widely popularized.
At the present time, the female singer said that her way of expressing music has changed. "When I have children and experience many things in life, I sing deeper, understand the song better," she shared. For Nhu Hao, singing is not only a technique but also the crystallization of experience and affection for family and homeland.
