On August 10, the walking program "For victims of Agent Orange" organized by the Association of victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with a number of related units will take place in Ho Chi Minh City.
The program was held on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the orange/dioxin disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961-10. August 20, 2025), to raise funds to care for victims affected by chemical toxins.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Association of victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, Agent Orange has exposed 4.8 million Vietnamese people.
Hundreds of thousands of victims have died, hundreds of thousands of people are struggling with the dangerous disease. In addition, according to incomplete statistics, the whole country currently has more than 850,000 victims of the 2nd generation, 350,000 victims of the 3rd generation and about 500 victims of the 4th generation.
The material life of the victims is very difficult, especially families with many generations, children with birth defects, deformities, and loss of working capacity. The cost of health care is beyond the family's ability to pay.
The program is expected to have about 5,000 participants. Adding youth to the program, singer Thuy Bui is an ambassador to spread positive values.
The female singer shared: "From the bottom of my heart, I sympathize and am moved by the program walking for victims of Agent Orange on the occasion of the Orange disaster in Vietnam on August 10. With profound humanitarian meaning, I hope the program spreads positive things to help ease the pain of war for many people," said singer Thuy Bui.

The war has been postponed for more than 50 years, but the consequences of it are still present. Up to now, many Vietnamese families are still suffering from unhealed wounds, especially the pain caused by Agent Orange.
Currently, the policy for resistance fighters infected with toxic substances and the children of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals are being paid attention to by the State and receiving monthly subsidies according to the norm, but is still modest compared to the living needs of the majority of victims of Agent Orange.
The material and spiritual life of the victims is still very difficult and deprived, especially families with many generations of victims, victims with serious illnesses, frequent recurrence of diseases, and no stable source of income.
Therefore, the walking program "For victims of Agent Orange" is a very practical activity to join hands, calling for the community's attention to victims of Agent Orange/dioxin.
