Ho Chi Minh City is about to have a unique pedestrian bridge, impressing the world
The pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River is expected to be inaugurated on April 30, 2026. The pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River has a unique architecture, inspired by the shape of water coconut leaves - a familiar symbol of the Southern land.
The project has a total length of about 720 m, a cross-section of 6 to 11 m, with a spatial steel arch structure applied for the first time in Vietnam. This promises to be one of the most impressive pedestrian bridges in the world. The bridge connects from Ben Bach Dang Park (District 1) to the riverside park area, Thu Thiem New Urban Area (Thu Duc City).

Crowds come to check in at Ham Thang building before demolition
Taking advantage of the weekend, many people and tourists visited and took souvenir photos to preserve images of the Shark's Han Palace before it was demolished. For decades, every time I go to Hoan Kiem Lake, I have come here to check in before the project is dismantled, said Ms. Nguyen Bich Thuy (Cau Giay, Hanoi).

Before the news of the demolition of the Ham Shark Building, the number of visitors to cafes and restaurants in the building increased sharply on weekends. The balcony area with a direct view of Hoan Kiem Lake is always packed with customers.

After a loud noise, a sinkhole appeared on National Highway 3B
On March 29, information from the People's Committee of Kim Lu commune (Na Ri district, Bac Kan province) said that this morning, a large sinkhole appeared in Hiep Luc village in the middle of the median strip of National Highway 3B. Currently, the authorities have put up warning signs and temporarily banned vehicles to ensure safety. The sinkhole is about 7 m long, 5 m deep, and has a perimeter of about 5 m. People in the surrounding area said that on the evening of March 28, there was a loud noise, and in the morning, they discovered the sinkhole on the road.
After receiving the information, the Department of Construction of Bac Kan coordinated with specialized agencies to the scene. At the same time, the cause of subsidence in this area is being determined. Initial assessment is that the sinkhole may have appeared due to weak geological foundation, without human impact. The Department of Construction will temporarily repair the problem to restore traffic for people to travel.
