Without talking too much about the spotlight, People's Artist Hong Van opened her heart to her artistic journey with all her passion, perseverance and deep love for the stage.
Since childhood, she has loved cheo, movies and had the ability to impersonate characters in a very natural way. However, art was still just a passion until she watched the late artist Thanh Nga perform in the play Miss Duong Van Nga. I have been nurturing my will to pursue art since then, People's Artist Hong Van shared.
In grade 12, she took a audition exam to the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City. Admitted to the directing industry with a score of almost the top, Hong Van entered the school and began her serious artistic career. In her third year of university, she was invited by director The Can to play the role of a 70-year-old woman in the play " Waiting for Spring". The only comedy role in that play made a strong impression on the audience and paved the way for many more opportunities.
After many years in the profession, People's Artist Hong Van admitted that she was lucky to have been wholeheartedly guided by the previous generation. That motivated her to become a guide for the younger generation. In addition to her role as an actress, People's Artist Hong Van is also a director, lecturer, show organizer, MC, and judge.
People's Artist Hong Van's joy today does not only come from her personal work, but also from her son - actor and director Khoi Nguyen. Currently, Khoi Nguyen both supports her mother on stage and pursues her own film projects.
For her, every role, every class, every TV show... is an opportunity to spread the fire and maintain her love for the profession - a difficult profession, but also full of glory in silence.
