On the evening of March 6, the film crew of " Geography: Sun in the dark" had a film introduction and casting session with the press in Ho Chi Minh City. The film features actors: Meritorious Artist Cao Minh, Thai Hoa, Quang Tuan, Diem Hang Lamon, Ho Thu Anh... In the trailer released earlier, viewers can see the producer's investment from the costumes to the setting.
This is a project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. The film is inspired by a historical story more than 50 years ago in the land of Cu Chi. geopolitics: Sun in the dark revolves around the setting in 1967, a 21-man tourist team led by Bay Theo in Binh An Dong became the number 1 finding and destroying target of the US military.
At the premiere, the audience also had the opportunity to chat and interact with actors and film crews. Here, viewers have the opportunity to listen to director Bui Thac Chuyen's shares about the difficulties in making war films as well as meet special characters appearing in the film.
Talking about the opportunity to come to this special project, actor Thai Hoa shared: One of the factors that made Thai Hoa immediately accept this script was that his wifes grandfather was a veteran revolutionary. There are some details in the film that are very similar to his memories of the years of fighting in Cu Chi".
Director Bui Thac Chuyen affirmed: The core of this film is talking about the people's war: Ordinary people fight against the most powerful army in the world. That is undeniable. This is an unquestionable battle, but we have done it. We have strategy, strategy, intelligence alongside courage. This is not a battle between A and B to win a prize. This is a heroic song. Why have the Cu Chi nomads been there for so many years without the Americans doing anything?
A land was cleared and burned down, but underground there was still a terrain, still there were nomads. This is not an objective view of the war. This is a subjective view. Why I want to talk about the subjective view of Vietnamese people: I want to have the lowest view, the view of the pilots fighting in the underground air."
The project is expected to launch on April 4, 2025.
