The event featured the cast: Nguyen Xuan Thang - Champion of The Next Gentleman 2024, Be Quyen - Top 10 Miss Vietnam 2022, Yu Duong and Hua Vy Van.
Having left an impression with Cha cuong con - the work chosen to represent Vietnam to submit to the 90th Oscars, this time director Luong Dinh Dung chose the horror, psychological and action genre. The film revolves around Bao (Xuan Thang) - a bus worker who accidentally awakens a deadly secret when dismantling a strange car, carrying a series of mysterious phenomena, ghosts of revenge and a mysterious disappearance in the past.
The director shared that the script was inspired by folk stories and haunting memories from friends and the lands he had gone through. The film's name evokes a contrast: The hills seem poetic but are covered in fog, deadly secrets. The work was prepared nearly three years ago, filmed in many unique settings: Tam Diep pineapple grassland, Trang An lake, Moc Chau primeval forest and especially Ban Bu cave (Thanh Hoa) for the first time on the big screen.

Explaining the opportunity for new faces like Xuan Thang and Be Quyen, the director said he wanted to create a fresh atmosphere and find suitability in the casting. Regarding box office pressure, he frankly said: At any time, Vietnamese cinemas have competition. I hope all Vietnamese films released in theaters will win to motivate filmmakers.
In the film, Xuan Thang took on the main role for the first time, had to practice a harsh mentality and action. Quyen overcame her fear of water to complete the scene of drowning in a car. Yu Duong and Hua Vy Van also appeared in many dramatic scenes.
The Ascension Hill: The returning Black Ta thuyet is expected to be released nationwide from September 26.
