After 10 years of putting her career on hold to take care of her family, actress Do Thi Hai Yen officially returned to the big screen through the role of Queen of the Duong family in the film project "Ho Linh Hoang - Mysterious Tomb of King Dinh". The film will be released at the 2025 Busan International Film Festival.
Born in 1982, Hai Yen has made her mark in many artistic works such as Pao's Story (2006), Playing Out (2009), Endless fields (201)... Although she only participated in 7 films in the period 2000 - 2015, she is still considered a talented cinematic face, each role left a deep impression. In particular, the role in the stunned American (Hollywood) helped her create an international buzz.

The role of the Duong Queen in "The Priestly Son - The Mysterious Son of King Dinh's Tomb" is considered a big challenge, requiring inner acting skills and a majestic demeanor. This is also a key figure, directly influencing the development of the main dynasty during the Dinh - Tien Le Dynasty. After "The Endless fields", this is the third collaboration between Do Thi Hai Yen and director Nguyen Phan Quang Binh.
The work is inspired by the folk legend about Dinh Tien Hoang, depicting the tragic journey of the seven monks associated with the secret of the emperor. The film promises to not only bring to schools a grand action and martial arts scene, but also deeply depict the spirit of loyalty, sacrifice and aspiration to protect each piece of homeland.
At the Busan International Film Festival, the film crew will appear in ancient costumes inspired by the Dinh - Tien Le dynasty, designed by designer Mai Lam, based on research on Vietnamese traditional costumes. This is considered a meaningful step to promote traditional culture to the world.
After a decade of absence, Hai Yen returns with two consecutive projects: Quan Ky Nam, just launched at TIFF, and 1982 scheduled to premiere in 2026. With "The Priestly Son - The Mystery of King Dinh's Tomb", her return promises to bring many surprises, continuing to affirm her position as one of the typical faces of Vietnamese cinema.
