The event was attended by director Ham Tran, actors Xuan Phuc, Tran Ngoc Vang, Ma Ran Do, Loi Tran... The three main actors Thai Hoa, Kaity Nguyen and Thanh Son were absent due to personal schedules. Lieutenant Colonel Tran Nam Chung - Director of the People's Public Security Cinema - was also present.
The special feature of the launch was the appearance of four witnesses who lived in the robbery nearly 50 years ago on flight DC4 number 501 on June 28, 1978: Captain Pham Trung Nam, two attendants Ngo Kim Thanh and Huynh Thu Cuc, and captain Nguyen Van Huong. This is one of two real robberies (the same on October 29, 1977) inspired to make a film.

According to captain Pham Trung Nam, when the plane was at an altitude of about 3,000 meters on the Da Nang - Buon Ma Thuot - Tan Son Nhat route, he discovered unusual signs and promptly contacted Da Nang to ask for a turn signal. When landing, the plane weathered a large hole caused by a group of pilots' mine. He was the only one in the cockpit who was not injured.
Principal Huynh Thu Cuc recalled that after about 8 minutes of the flight, a group of pilots suddenly appeared, holding knives and threatening. The two attendants tried every way to prevent them from approaching the cockpit so that the crew had time to handle the situation. Principal Ngo Kim Thanh was shot in the thigh while fighting back, while the passenger panicked and screamed.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Nam Chung said that the film "Aer War" is not only to praise the police force, but to honor the people who have protected the lives of passengers. Director Ham Tran revealed that the film was originally planned to be called 52 minutes - exactly the time the incident took place - but after meeting witnesses, the crew decided to change the name to emphasize the dramatic and fighting spirit.
In the film, Kaity Nguyen and Tram Anh will play the role of two attendants Huynh Thu Cuc and Ngo Kim Thanh. The film crew has restored a plane at a ratio of 1:1 from old equipment to serve filming.
The movie dead in the air is scheduled to premiere on September 19, promising to bring the audience a new perspective on the battle to protect Vietnam's sky.
