Quang Thao will not appear on stage, this time he will stand behind the scenes, in the role of scriptwriter and director of the project.
The play is expected to be reviewed this November and will be performed for the public who love Ho Chi Minh City's drama stage from December 2024 at Ben Thanh Theater.
Sharing at the press conference on the evening of October 31, Mr. Huynh Anh Tuan - Director of Thai Duong Stage - Arts Company Limited, the owner of Idecaf Drama Theater, did not hide his ambition for a drama stage in the "new era".
Mr. Anh Tuan said: "We hope that when talking about Idecaf, the public and experts will not only mention old plays that have been renewed, or new plays that continue from old successes, even though those are the things that made Idecaf famous in the past.
What Idecaf aims for is to have more valuable dramatic works to give to the audience. The play "Duc Thuong Cong Ta Quan Le Van Duyet" is considered the first brick to lay the foundation to consolidate the theater's dramatic section. As for Under the beauty's shadow, we believe that this will be the play that creates a solid framework for the Idecaf art house."
According to Mr. Huynh Anh Tuan, Under the beauty's shadow is one of the projects that Idecaf will focus a lot of human and financial resources on in the near future.
Although the total investment has not been disclosed, looking at the number of actors, more than 50 people, including many famous names in Saigon drama today, we can see the scale and determination of the producer to persevere with this stage.
“More than 200 ancient costumes were designed and produced specifically for Under the Beauty’s Shadow. Also according to director Quang Thao’s wishes, they invited musician Van Tu Quy to take on the role of music director for the project.
