Appearing as a guest judge in the program "Unexpected Transformation 2026", singer Lam Hung for the first time shared about the period of many upheavals in his career, from the days of failure in singing competitions to the time he lost himself because of sleeping on success.
Lam Hung said that he always sympathizes with the contestants because he himself has experienced the feeling of being eliminated many times. The male singer recounted that when he first entered the profession, he was influenced by Ngoc Son's style, then learned from Lam Truong when pursuing youth music. However, according to him, artists can only go the long way when they find their own mark.
What made Lam Hung most concerned was the period from 2006 to 2014. After achieving certain successes, he admitted that he gradually became satisfied with the present, rarely invested in new products and lost connection with the audience.
I almost stood still. That was the time I fell asleep on the victory," the male singer said.
Not only stagnating in music, Lam Hung also switched to real estate, wood furniture and many other fields with the desire to improve his income. However, all plans did not achieve the expected results, putting him under financial pressure.
The turning point came when an audience member said to him: "So many people want to be like you but cannot, and you quit your job". That saying made Lam Hung look back at himself and decide to return to music.
The male singer said that after returning to Ho Chi Minh City, he almost started from scratch, self-taught technology, invested in new products, continuously recorded, filmed MVs and worked with high intensity to regain the audience's affection.
To date, Lam Hung owns a music library with hundreds of songs in many genres. Although always innovating, he believes that artists must not lose their identity. "If you just follow trends and lose your own personality, the audience will also forget you very quickly," he shared.
More than two decades in the profession, Lam Hung affirmed that the most precious thing is not fame but the affection of the audience. Therefore, when sitting in the judge's seat of "Unexpected Transformation 2026", he wants to inspire the contestants, helping them firmly pursue the path of art.
