In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, the spring atmosphere spreads throughout Bac Lieu ward - the central area of the old Bac Lieu province, a land familiar with the name "Prince Land of Bac Lieu". On the main roads, especially Nguyen Tat Thanh street, crowds of people are bustling to visit and enjoy Spring, creating a vibrant urban appearance in the last days of the year.
The highlight of this year's Spring Festival is the mascot cluster with the theme "Ma dao thanh cong" installed at the beginning of Nguyen Tat Thanh street leading to the ward administrative area. The mascot cluster not only creates aesthetic highlights but also sends messages about aspirations for development, luck, fortune and breakthrough spirit in the new year.
This is the first time the Spring Festival has been held in the context of two-level local governments going into operation, with a ward-level scale. However, thanks to careful preparation and methodical approach, the Spring Festival still maintains a vibrant atmosphere, not inferior to previous city-level spring festival seasons.
With the goal of spreading traditional cultural values, recreating the space for Tet activities in the South, this year's Spring Festival attracted 23 booths from agencies, units, and schools to participate. The booths are elaborately and creatively invested, recreating the image of an old rural market, the ancestral altar combined with a five-fruit tray, harmonizing tradition and modernity.
The series of activities at the Spring Festival is organized richly with many contests and cultural and artistic programs such as: booth decoration contest; Tet cake wrapping contest; Fatherland altar decoration contest combined with five-fruit tray; folk games; expanded chess tournament; calligraphy and painting performances; folk dance, hiphop, aerobics, and modern dance festivals.
In particular, the "Spring Colors of Childhood" contest left many impressions with innocent, dreamy drawings of children, contributing to creating a colorful festival space.
According to Mr. Phan Hai Phuong - Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Ward People's Committee, the Spring Festival contributes to creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere during Tet and Spring; and at the same time promotes the local image, promoting the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, and creativity of the people.
During the Spring Festival, more than 3,000 people and tourists came to visit and experience. Many people were interested in the flower road, flower waterfalls, digital transformation models, and miniatures of New Year mascots. Traditional Tet food stalls and OCOP products also attracted a large number of people to shop.
The 2026 Spring Festival in Bac Lieu ward makes many people almost forget that this place was previously Bac Lieu city because of the arrangement, the number of visitors and the vibrant activities taking place.
