Lee Yi Kyung caused emotion when kneeling and bowing to Vietnamese audiences at the premiere of the movie "Mommy, Come Home".

On the evening of July 6th in Ho Chi Minh City, the film crew of "Mẹ ơi, về nhà" (English name: Here I Am) organized a screening for the press and a premiere night with the participation of Vietnamese and Korean actors and many artists such as Toc Tien, Gil Le, Xoai Non, MisThy, Ngoc Thanh Tam, Tran Ngoc Vang...

During the exchange, Korean actor Lee Yi Kyung shared that he accepted to participate in the project because he was touched by the story of motherhood and human loneliness. The actor said that his co-star Minh Ha gave him many emotions during the filming process, helping the scenes about his mother become more realistic.

The star of "Suddenly Winning the Lottery" also choked up and revealed that he had few opportunities to meet his family recently. He hopes that after watching the movie, the audience will spend more time caring for and being with their mother while they can.

Notably, at the end of the program, Lee Yi Kyung suddenly performed a kneeling and bowing ceremony according to Korean culture to thank the media and Vietnamese audiences for supporting the film. The humble action of the male actor received a long round of applause from the auditorium.

Marking her return to the big screen after 4 years, Hoang Yen Chibi said that she found many similarities with the character Diem My when they both love singing and once nurtured the dream of developing a career in Korea. To complete the role, the actress spent 3 months learning Korean to perform dialogue segments and work smoothly with the international crew.

Meanwhile, actress Minh Ha admitted that language barriers are the biggest challenge when collaborating with the Korean film crew for the first time. She believes that focusing on the character's emotions has helped the actors overcome language differences.

Producer Ahn Chul Ho revealed that the film actively uses bright colors for the Vietnamese setting to create contrast with the suffocating atmosphere in Korea, thereby emphasizing the journey of healing and the value of family affection.

Mother, Come Home" tells the story of Huy Hoang (Lee Yi Kyung) - a Korean boy who was taken in by his Vietnamese foster mother from a young age. After his mother passed away, he returned to his mother's homeland and met Diem My (Hoang Yen Chibi), opening up a journey to face the past, heal the wounds and find the meaning of the family.

The film is directed by Yun Byung Ki, expected to be released nationwide from July 10, 2026.
