On the evening of November 29, the Closing Ceremony of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Theater Festival with the theme "Southern Aspiration" officially took place. The first Theater Festival held in Ho Chi Minh City gathered 19 theater units and 24 plays, bringing diversity in artistic colors and content.
With individual gold medals, many veteran names in the art world were honored such as: Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc, Meritorious Artist Minh Nhi, Viet Huong, Quoc Thao, Le Khanh, Dai Nghia, Ai Nhu, Hoang Son, Cat Phuong, Tuyet Thu, Hanh Thuy, Chanh Truc, Dinh Toan...
Among them, Minh Du - one of the young artists participating in the first Ho Chi Minh City Theater Festival - excellently received the individual gold medal for his role as Sang (or Lo Suong Suong) in the play "Lo nho tham thuong". Besides, this play also received the silver medal in the first Ho Chi Minh City Theater Festival.

Sharing his feelings about the noble award in his career, the actor said: "I still can't believe that Minh Du was honored with his teachers and seniors for the gold medal at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Festival this time.
I didn't think this role could bring home a gold medal. On the day of the Festival, Du just focused on performing his best like he did every week for the audience. Previously, Minh Du had participated in the National Drama Festival 3 times, all of which won silver medals. Du thought he probably wouldn't have a chance to win a bigger prize.
So this time, I participated with a very light heart. Simply to celebrate with my colleagues at the Festival and also hope that the play "Lo nho tham thuong" will receive a medal, so that everyone's efforts and dedication will be recognized."
