Not only is it a filming space, this kitchen is built by the crew as a "living memory", where each sound, light and rhythm of life evokes a feeling of warmth, reunion - especially close to the Tet atmosphere of every Vietnamese family.
In the video, director Minh Beta and the main cast spend a lot of time talking about pho not simply as a dish, but as a part of cultural identity. According to the crew, the preparation process for the film includes carefully researching the origin, characteristics and spirit of pho, with the desire to recreate the most realistic image when bringing the dish "national soul" to the big screen.
Director Minh Beta said that pho is a dish deeply associated with the life of Vietnamese people, so all details need accuracy. The crew proactively went to Van Cu Pho Branch - which is considered the cradle of the pho profession - to consult. Careful advice from people who have been attached to the profession for many years helps the film not only be "in the right place" in terms of image, but also preserve the spirit of pho in cultural life.
Not stopping at the culinary story, the behind-the-scenes of episode 1 also shows the emotional direction that the movie Mui Pho pursues. According to director Minh Beta, Tet is an opportunity for generations in the family to listen and understand each other more. Therefore, the film focuses on the inner voices of each generation, besides entertainment elements.
Artist Xuan Hinh expressed his excitement when participating in the project, because for him, pho is "the soul, the core" of Vietnamese people. He believes that the film brings many nuances of laughter, from gentle, profound to refreshing, and that is also what helps an entertainment work create social impact.
Meanwhile, actor Quoc Tuan said that from the name of the film, he felt the cultural value that the project aims for, while Ha Huong shared the harmony when the film connects culture, cuisine and family spirit in a close way.
