The play "Comrade" is an art project of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, produced by the Small Stage Theater, based on the A-prize winning script by author Le Thu Hanh at the Stage Script Writing Camp organized by the Association.
The play revolves around the concerns of Mr. Trung (played by artist Quoc Thinh) when witnessing the changes of the times and of his own family members. He himself has been through life and death countless times with his comrades, so he has remained loyal to the revolutionary ideals all his life.
However, when the next generation of son, daughter-in-law and grandson - Mr. Thanh, Mrs. Duyen and Dat (three roles played by artists Huynh Phuong, Dang Phuong Tram and Khanh Dang) chose to enter the armed forces to serve the Fatherland, generational conflicts arose, conflicts in the way of behaving with the revolutionary ideals of the new era with Mr. Trung.
The appeal of the play is to show the anguish of the character Mr. Trung among his former teammates (4 teammates - Mr. Tam, Mr. Chinh, Mr. Lam, Mr. Cuong performed by artists Chanh Truc, Trong Hieu, Lam Thang and Quoc Cuong).
The work "Comrade" was directly directed by People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, with artist Quoc Thinh taking on the role of assistant director.
This is the play that will be selected by the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association to perform and compete at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Festival in 2024, with many hopes of sending a message of pride and patriotism to the young audience generation.
