In the new film, director Pom Nguyen takes the audience back to the time before the upheavals in part 1. Minh Nhu appears on a journey back to her hometown with the desire to reconcile her family, but accidentally becomes the focus of a series of mysterious spiritual phenomena. Her presence is seen as a "bad omen", when unusual signs continuously appear in the ancient house, from the gloomy atmosphere to warnings about a lurking evil force.
The climax of the trailer lies in the tragedy of My Ngoc - Minh Nhu's younger sister. This character continuously affirms that there is a female demon clinging to the family, before suddenly dying and coming back to life with a distorted appearance and soulless gaze. From here, the story shifts to a life-and-death confrontation between humans and supernatural forces, when each family member successively falls into the control of the devil.
The official poster of "Quỷ nhập tràng 2" continues to promote the haunting element with the image of the sealing ceremony of the two sisters Minh Nhu - My Ngoc in candlesticks and ropes. The remaining characters kneel around, creating a composition that evokes feelings of helplessness and deadlock between the boundary of life and death. The cast includes Kha Nhu, Quang Tuan, Van Dung, Doan Quoc Dam, Dao Anh Tuan, Phuong Binh... appearing in austere costumes, showing that the film focuses on family tragedy rather than simple scare scenes.
A notable highlight in the trailer is the setting of the fabric factory in An Giang. Director Pom Nguyen chose the traditional fabric dyeing village as the main space, turning familiar items such as weaving frames, fabric sheets, and dyeing workshops into tools to spread death. According to the crew, fabric is considered a symbol of contrast: soft but can suffocate, cover but can also kill, thereby creating a horror color imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity.
The movie is scheduled to premiere on March 6, 2026.
