Flow is the latest animated film by Gints Zilbalodis - a Korean director.
The film received the prestigious Golden Ball award in 2025 in the category of Best animated film, selected to be screened in the Un Certain Regard category within the framework of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Lost is also a strong competitor to compete for the Oscar award in addition to works from famous studios with sky-high costs such as Inside Out 2 (Pixar) and The Wild Robot (Dreamworks).
Lost is the second independent animation project of director born in 1994 Gints Zilbalodis. The film is set in a post-apoc golden world with no humans, seeing his house swept away by a flood, the gray cat was shy and afraid that the water would require him to take an adventure at sea with other animals to survive together.
The story of the adventure of cats and other animals in the Golden tight is also a life lesson for humans.
This is a rare independent film competing for prestigious cartoon awards, and is also a work made with a record low budget compared to cartoons that previously competed for Oscar awards (US$3.6 million).
The film was made in an office with a modest area, a small team and edited with free open source graphics software.
The film will officially premiere in theaters from March 7 and have special screenings on March 1 and 2, 2025.
