"ut Lan" has been at the top of the box office for many days. On June 28, the film was scheduled to have more than 2,000 screenings and reached 2.6 billion VND (total revenue reached nearly 50 billion VND). Followed by "Dragon Training Bridge" with more than 1.5 billion VND.
Currently, in Vietnamese theaters, only "ut Lan" sells tickets well against foreign blockbusters.
On June 28, the film crew revealed the two actors who played Ut Lan and Ut Nho. It was co-starring actors Mai Cat Vi and Mai My Ngan.
His disabled and strange appearance made Ut Lan take it easy and dare not get close to anyone. Meanwhile, Ut Nho is not considered a human being, living like a doll because he only has a head attached to his sister's back. When she was in her old age, Ut Lan was brought up to a well-off family (played by Dao Ba Son), Ut Nho was forced to follow his sister. The tragedy of a poor young sister came when they were used as gifts for the spouse.
In real life as brothers, Mai My Ngan and Mai Cat Vi shared two sister roles in Ut Lan. However, there was a role-playing exchange between them. My Ngan plays the younger sister Ut Nho, while Cat Vi plays the younger sister Ut Lan.
For the Gen Z actor duo, the most haunting thing during the film is the appearance of a double-head ghost. My Ngan revealed that the head of Ut Nho stuck to Ut Lan's back was counterfeit with silicone.
In an important scene, My Ngan sat close behind Cat Vi, holding her hand, hiding her whole body, only revealing a little of her face on the camera.
For Mai Cat Vi, when she saw the silicon head "as a sister's relatives", she was cold back. During the performance with this "doll" on her back, the 16-year-old actress encountered many difficulties because the head was made of silicon and was relatively heavy.
