From a man considered stingy, betraying friends, Boss So unexpectedly moved many viewers because of the family wounds that the character had to bear throughout his life.
After the first weeks of screening, the movie "Boss Sò" gradually created a positive effect at the box office thanks to its humorous colors mixed with family emotions. Director Duc Thinh's film not only attracts attention with its folksy laughter but also with stories that touch the distance between generations.
Recently, the crew continued to release a "best cut" revealing the past of Boss So - a character once considered the most hateful in the movie. In the new scenes, Boss So is hated by the whole Red Jellyfish village after accusing the Seafood robbery gang of receiving bonuses from officials. What makes villagers angry is that this robbery gang is actually specializing in robbing corrupt officials to give to the poor, while the leader Tom Hum is a close friend of Boss So.
Amidst everyone's criticism, Boss So loudly retorted that the whole village used to borrow money from him when it was difficult. The character believes that he only surrendered to criminals and did nothing wrong. However, that coldness made Thi Hen completely disappointed and further pushed Boss So into loneliness.
The emotional turning point of the film lies in the flashback to the past. Boss So once lived in extreme poverty. His father was bitten by a snake, but the family did not have enough money to hire a car to take him for treatment. Although his mother begged desperately, the driver still coldly demanded enough 5 quan of money to help. In the end, Boss So's father passed away, and his mother gradually lost consciousness due to suffering.
From then on, Boss So had to do all kinds of jobs to support his mother. The character eats pig feed to save money, drinks donkey urine instead of alcohol, and carries his mother while plowing the fields. These images moved many viewers and began to understand more about why Boss So became pragmatic and obsessed with money as he is now.
In particular, the detail that the mother, although no longer lucid, still tells her son: "Helping a little is also love" became a tearful scene for many viewers. Many viewers shared that after watching the movie, they just wanted to go home and hug their parents tightly.
Currently, the movie "Boss Sò" is still being screened nationwide and will continue to organize many audience exchange activities in the near future.
