After more than 2 months of airing, the film Stolen Happiness achieved impressive results with 750 million views on all platforms (VieON, Facebook, Tiktok and YouTube).
Remade from the Korean film - Jang Bo-ri Is Here! by screenwriter Kim Soon Ok, the film "Stolen Happiness" is adapted to suit Vietnamese culture and life. Not only is it heavily invested in setting and costumes, the film also features veteran actors from both the North and the South.
In the Korean version, the role of Yeon Min Jung played by Lee Yoo Ri created a fever on the screen in 2014 because of her cruelty and extreme ambition. With a big turning point in her career, Lee Yoo Ri became the first actress with a villain role to win Daesang at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards and received the title of "national villain" of Korea.
In the movie "Stolen Happiness", Quynh Luong tried to create a unique Thien Nga despite having similarities with Yeon Min Jung. Although learning acting from Lee Yoo Ri, the actress still wanted to create her own style, expressing the character's inner thoughts and depth in her own way, suitable for Vietnamese audiences.
“I watched the Korean version and also partly took the character’s psychology from there. The character has ambitions. I also consulted many places, not just from Lee Yoo Ri’s role as Yeon Min Jung” – Quynh Luong said.
Trying to put all her emotions into and complete the role of Thien Nga well, Quynh Luong is not pressured when being compared to Lee Yoo Ri.
“I am not afraid of being compared, I know where I stand. There are many things I am not good at. I will never be able to surpass the shadow of the Korean version, so I do not put pressure on myself” - the actress honestly said.
