The film approaches thorny issues of contemporary social life, in which the toxicity of cyberspace, invisible violence in the digital world and the deep psychological layers of jealousy - factors that are silently shaping the behavior and perception of modern people.
Vanitas" revolves around a mysterious man, built as a symbol of human inner strength. The character faces challenges, judgment and negative energy in life, where the line between right - wrong, good - evil becomes fragile. He chooses to overcome it with will and steadfastness, instead of violence or stratagem.
Hidden behind that fate is a king who has left the throne, choosing to give up fame and power to return to a simple life. The film raises the thought that people can only find peace and sustainable value when they give up desire and greed.
Notably, this feature film will be produced 100% using AI artificial intelligence technology on smartphones, with a duration of 1.5 hours.
The production team said that Vanitas is built with proprietary AS (Art Supper/AestheticSynth) technology. This technology creates a series of three-dimensional swipe effects and visual hallucinations, bringing a different cinematic experience in approach and perception.
Director Pham Vinh Khuong (born in 1992, in Ho Chi Minh City) is an early face testing the application of artificial intelligence in the field of cinema and music. Since 2017, he has used AI in a number of creative stages, implementing products such as "Cheo mo lai ra", "Buc tranh Dai Viet" with the theme of culture - history, or music projects using AI such as "Tiec trang" and "Mat bao".
Recently, Pham Vinh Khuong continued to introduce a 3D animated MV produced entirely with AI. "Vanitas" is considered the next step in his experimentation process, and also raises issues about the role of technology and people in artistic creation.
Sharing about the idea of making the film, the director said: "The project was conceived from my own personal experiences, when I was a victim of unreasonable attacks and controversies and had to face a lot of public pressure in the process of pursuing a career. I also witnessed many individuals becoming targets of toxicity on social networks, forced to endure and find ways to stand up to continue pursuing their dreams.

According to the plan, the movie "Vanitas" will officially be released in theaters around April this year. Previously, the production crew will release the MV "Vanitas" on social media platforms to introduce the film project and expand its reach to the public.
