The appeal of So Ji Sub and Ji Sung

The return of So Ji Sub and Ji Sung is attracting the attention of the audience with 2 works with completely opposite colors.

With "Agent Kim Reboot", So Ji Sub is holding a dominant advantage in viewership ratings. Episode 6 of the movie broadcast last weekend recorded a rating of 22.3%, reaching 26.4% at times, continuing to break the record of the work itself.

This is also the second highest-rated film in the history of SBS's Friday-Saturday film slot, second only to "The War of the Upper Class 2".

In the movie, So Ji Sub impresses when transforming into former agent Kim living under the guise of an ordinary office worker. The continuous action scenes combined with a father-son love story have helped the movie maintain stable attraction from the early episodes.

Not only exploding in ratings in Korea, "Agent Kim Reboots" is also leading the rankings of non-English TV dramas on Netflix globally.

In the latest statistics week, the work recorded 10.5 million views and 44.1 million hours of viewing, ending the four-week dominance of "Life's Lesson". The film topped 11 countries and territories, and also entered the Top 10 in 79 markets.

In the opposite direction, Ji Sung returned with "Apartment Affair" - a social psychological drama of JTBC. The work opened with a rating of 4.6% and increased to 5.4% in episode two.

Although its television achievements cannot be compared with "Agent Kim Reboot", the film still recorded positive signals when it quickly entered the Top 1 TV series on Netflix Korea right in its first week of broadcasting.

In the film, Ji Sung plays Park Hae Kang - a former gangster who decides to run for the chairman of the residential association to investigate the secrets surrounding the apartment maintenance fund worth 17.8 billion won. The first two episodes mainly build the setting and character cast, while revealing conflicts of power, corruption and interest in the apartment complex.

Although both reappeared at a time when Korean screens were vibrant, the current situation is clearly leaning towards So Ji Sub. "Agente Kim Reboot" not only dominates domestic ratings but also leads Netflix globally, affirming an attraction beyond the Korean audience.

Meanwhile, Ji Sung's "Apartment Affair" had a positive start with rising ratings and positive effects on Netflix Korea. With a script predicted to accelerate in the following episodes, the film still has the opportunity to improve its performance and create more momentum in the summer drama race.
