To celebrate the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27), Hong Bang International University visited 22 hospitals receiving student internships, thereby affirming that medical training cannot be separated from the clinical environment.
In the health science block, hospitals are places to form professional competence. At units such as Cho Ray Hospital, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital... students participate in caring for patients, observing cases and handling situations under the supervision of doctors.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. DS Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Vice Rector of HIU, students are trained in clinical practice early to get acquainted with the process of receiving, consulting, multi-specialty coordination and understand the role of each position in the healthcare system.
The school also invests in pre-clinical practice rooms, simulating miniature hospitals; medical students, nurses, functional rehabilitation, dentistry and pharmacy students practice skills before entering the patient room.
The coordination between schools and institutes helps standardize capacity assessment, focusing on expertise, attitude and teamwork skills, meeting the requirements of patient care in the context of population aging and increasing chronic diseases.
