At the meeting, Mr. Kim Hyun Dong, Director of the Office of the Korean Ministry of Education abroad in Vietnam, presented a certificate of merit to Mr. Bui Van Kiem, Director of the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training for his outstanding contributions to promoting cooperation in education, teaching and Korean cultural exchange in the city.
It is known that from the 2023-2024 school year, Hai Phong will become the first locality in the country to deploy Korean as the first foreign language in general schools, in addition to teaching as foreign language 2 and Korean Clubs spreading throughout districts.
Up to now, with more than 40 educational institutions who are teaching Korean, along with thousands of students attending and participating in Korean cultural activities, Hai Phong has become a model in cultural cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries. This success is due to the drastic direction of the city leaders, the continuous efforts of the education sector and the close and effective coordination between Hai Phong Department of Education and Training and the Office of the Ministry of Education in Vietnam in Vietnam.
Mr. Bui Van Kiem, Director of Hai Phong Department of Education and Training thanked the recognition of the Korean Ministry of Education for the efforts of the city education industry in promoting Korean teaching and learning activities at general education institutions. The Director of the Department of Education and Training emphasized that this is not only a result of an effective cooperation between the two parties but also a testament to the openness and initiative in integration of Hai Phong Education.
In the coming time, in addition to improving the quality of teaching and learning Korean, the two sides will coordinate to organize more cultural exchange activities, creating a bridge for Hai Phong students to better understand the country and people of Korea, demonstrating the spirit of integration and friendship between the two countries.
