On May 15, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the project of Compensation, Support, and Resettlement serving the North-South high-speed railway project, section passing through Quang Ngai province.
The North-South high-speed railway project is invested by Thang Long Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction). The section passing through Quang Ngai province is about 86.3km long, passing through 19 communes and wards. The total expected recovered area is about 365ha.
The total planned capital allocated for the project in 2026 is 500 billion VND. Of which, 470 billion VND is capital for 2026 and 30 billion VND is transferred capital from 2025.
Up to now, the province has completed the approval of outlines, survey estimates, planting planning boundary markers and preparing master plans for 8 resettlement areas and 20 cemetery reburial areas.
For 10 resettlement areas implemented according to the detailed plan at a scale of 1/500, the selection of consulting units to prepare survey tasks and planning tasks has been completed; dossiers are being completed to get opinions from relevant agencies before submitting for appraisal and approval according to regulations.
According to the project plan, the work of preparing design documents, planting piles for site clearance and handing over boundary markers on the ground is expected to be implemented from the third quarter of 2027. After receiving documents and boundary markers, the province will deploy site clearance for the main route; relocate related technical infrastructure works.
In 2026 alone, the province focuses on completing investment preparation procedures, ensuring sufficient conditions for project approval; striving to complete the necessary conditions to start construction of resettlement areas according to the plan.
Emphasizing at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang acknowledged the spirit of responsibility of departments, branches, units, and localities in coordinating and preparing to implement the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis, passing through Quang Ngai province.
This is a key project with strategic significance, contributing to promoting regional linkages, completing transport infrastructure and creating room for socio-economic development in the new period.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang requested the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to continue to complete the planning work; compensation, support, resettlement and relocation of technical infrastructure under the North-South high-speed railway project, section passing through Quang Ngai province.
Assign the Department of Construction to coordinate with the Management Board to review and adjust the content of the plan in accordance with the current actual situation, as a basis for organizing project implementation. At the same time, develop implementation plans, prioritize allocating projects to localities to preside over, coordinate with departments, branches, and related units to implement synchronously.
In the period of difficulties in organizational structure and human resources after arrangement and streamlining, localities proactively overcome difficulties and unanimously effectively implement the project. The province plans to establish a delegation to learn from localities' experiences in compensation, site clearance and deployment of key projects to apply appropriately to the project implementation process in the province.
