Taking my mother away
On May 8, the Vietnam - Korea cooperation film "Mother leaves" announced the first information.
The project is directed and written by Mr. Mo Hong-jin. Previously, director Mo Hong-jin made an impression with the work "The Last uocation of Prisoners 2037" (English title: My girl) in 2022.
"Mother leaves" was developed entirely from the original script, inspired by Korean filmmakers from the people, lifestyle, and culture of Vietnam.
From the original intention, the crew wanted to create a Vietnam - Korea cooperation film with a close and friendly spirit to Vietnamese audiences in particular and the world in general. The film is a story about family - a familiar factor that no matter who the viewer is, regardless of language or country, can be understood and sympathized with.
The name of the film "Bringing Mothers to Abandone" shows the psychological struggle between love and responsibility of children in the process of caring for their elderly mothers.
The film is scheduled to premiere on August 1 in Vietnam.
My Lai baby
The work was inspired by a famous photo taken by battlefield reporter Ronald Haeberle on March 16, 1968 - the time of the My Lai massacre.
Director Hoang Nam said that he was deeply moved when he saw this photo, which made him want to make a film about a slice of the war. Set in Quang Ngai in 1968, "My Lai Baby" will revolve around the life-and-death journey of a boy who witnessed his family and beloved village submerged in the smoke and fire of war.
The work delves into human identity as well as the passionate love of water in painful situations.
Hoang Nam informed that the film not only recreates historical events, but also the voices of children who lost their childhood, family and homeland during the war; Despite their smallness and weakness, they still have a desire to protect their relatives and roofs...
Currently, the producer is completing the project and arranging a release schedule.
Previously, director Hoang Nam was successful with his debut work "Lan Am Duong", earning more than 105 billion VND.
