On the upstream of the waterfall, the Quay Son River splits the area between Chi Vien and Dinh Phong communes, the clear blue water flows through many alluvial plains and rocky hills such as the miniature Ha Long Bay, surrounded by green forests interspersed with rocky mountains and hills. The water was flowing and then suddenly encountered Thoong Long mountain (a large waterfall) blocking the river, so the water poured down to form a waterfall.
According to the elders, the waterfall is named after a tree named "brother" that is usually only available locally.

After reaching the waterfall, the river flows slowly around bamboo mounds and fertile fields caused by silt extending down towards the large river.
