The film with a bold and hot approach, directed by female director Emerald Fennell, is expected to premiere in Vietnam in March 2026.
First published in 1847, "The Wind and the Sea Hill" is one of the classics of British literature, revolving around the tragic love between Heathcliff - an adopted child being bullied by society - and Miss Ear Catherinenshaw. The 2026 version opens with a scene of the sad West Yorkshire grassland, then quickly drags the audience into a whirlwind of intense emotions, where gothic scenes blend with a series of scenes that evoke metaphorical love about the passionate, haunting relationship between the two main characters.
The film brings together a cast of prominent Hollywood stars. Margot Robbie plays the mature Catherine, while Jacob Elordi transforms into Heathcliff. In addition, young stars Owen Cooper and Charlotte Mellington respectively featured Heathcliff and Catherine as teenagers. Two faces of Vietnamese origin, Hong Chau and Vy Nguyen, also appear in the role of Nelly Dean, who witnessed all incidents of hatred through generations.
With immortal original material, a bright cast and a unique director vision, Doi Gio Xu 2026 is considered one of the most anticipated works of the year.
