On August 11, the preliminary round of Miss Grand Vietnam - Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 took place in Ho Chi Minh City. For the first time, Miss Grand Vietnam organized The Grand Arrival competition - a competition for contestants to express their personality, personal identity and creativity through unique costumes and appearances.
In this competition, contestants can combine promoting Vietnamese culture, cuisine or local specialties through costumes, props or performances.
Unlike the National Cultural Costume Performance competition, the opening part of The Grand Arrival highlights the individual mark of the contestants. The contestants invested in costumes, props and performance ideas themselves, and could actively integrate the promotion of Vietnamese culture, cuisine or local specialties.
Accordingly, The Grand Arrival competition shows that Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 contestants have expressed their love for the cultural and historical beauty of the regions from their own perspective.
Contestant Ngo Thai Ngan surprised everyone when she brought a rustic crab noodle shop to the stage. Sharing about this idea, Thai Ngan said that the image of a crab noodle has been with her since childhood. Every time she thinks about her hardworking mother, she remembers her familiar crab noodle shop.
Contestant Nguyen Thi Thu Ngan impressed when recreating the bustling and exciting wedding atmosphere of the West. In the image of a charming bride with a red ao dai and typical yellow jewelry, Thu Ngan hopes to bring a joyful and close atmosphere to the competition.
Wearing the costume "Huong Dong Ho", contestant Do Nguyen Ngoc Mai hopes to introduce the beauty of the famous Dong Ho painting village in Kinh Bac.
Meanwhile, contestant Dinh Y Quyen expressed her pride in the vast Central Highlands. She brought The Grand Arrival a colorful costume with typical brocade motifs.
Contestant Bui Thu Thuy introduced Hung Yen cage longan specialties and Thai Binh fish cake. Through this image, Thu Thuy not only honors the value of local cuisine but also conveys her pride and love for the land where she was born and raised.
Contestant Mai Thi Thuy Linh brought The Grand Arrival a costume inspired by the image of Au Co's mother in legend combined with the image of pure lotus petals. The performance honors the gentle, noble beauty of Vietnamese women and sends a message of appreciation for traditional values through a modern artistic perspective.
Each contestant has a different color, expressing the vitality and diversity of the cultures of Vietnamese regions. The Grand Arrival winner was shortlisted in the top 20 of Miss Grand Vietnam 2025.
After the evaluation and selection process, the judges selected 35 contestants with the best performances to continue to the final round, scheduled to take place on September 14.
