Phung Khanh Linh's concert filled the 4,000-seat auditorium of the National Convention Center, the female singer's audience was mostly young people in their twenties, attached to Phung Khanh Linh's music since her first album.
The music night lasted for nearly 3 hours, without the need for MC or guests, Phung Khanh Linh alone led the audience through many emotional levels with 25 songs, including 24 songs composed by her and 1 song written by musician Pham Hai Au and directed by Chung Chi Cong participating in writing lyrics. The songs composed and performed by Phung Khanh Linh herself have created a continuous flow, where each song is like a slice of mood.
The content of the music night is divided into many parts such as psychological chapters, going from denial, struggle, anger to acceptance, healing and happiness. The special point of the concert is also that Phung Khanh Linh and the crew limit the dependence on LED screens.
Instead, she focused on staging the stage in a gothic style, with contrasting light and dark parts along with an arrangement that highlights the mystery and dance harmonizing with the content of each song.
Not only singing, the female singer is like a storyteller with music, light, fashion, ballet and even acting. The concert impressed from the very beginning when the stage was immersed in darkness. Amidst the enchanting light, the female singer appeared in a feathered outfit, her long white hair that had become a brand, sitting on a black swan.
Through the concert, Phung Khanh Linh appears in many forms: Mysterious, gloomy and torn in music; mischievous, humorous when interacting; then mature and profound when looking back at the past years.
The female singer also caused emotion when she had time to recall a letter 9 years ago that she wrote to her mother saying that she would go to a strange city to pursue her dream. Choosing music as her career path, she went through many failures, products that were not accepted and even stages of doubting herself.
Looking back at the past journey, Phung Khanh Linh said thank you to herself for not giving up in despair. She also admitted that there were times when her ego was too high and there were unsuccessful products. But time and effort helped her believe that failure cannot haunt a person forever.
Now, she stands in front of 4,000 spectators, listening to them sing along to the compositions written in "Loneliness". Looking at thousands of lights pointing towards her, Phung Khanh Linh said: "I don't feel lonely anymore".
From a girl who was born and had a peaceful childhood in Bac Giang (now Bac Ninh) and once felt lonely every time she went back to Van Chuong alley with the days of going to Hanoi to start a career, looking at the flow of people passing by and asking herself: "Why am I so lonely?", "No one really understands me?"... Phung Khanh Linh stood among thousands of people, listening to the audience sing along to the very lyrics she wrote in the most skeptical days. And the dream of singing "among ten thousand people" has come true.
When the program ended, many viewers still lingered, unanimously calling Phung Khanh Linh's name. After all the songs about loneliness, Phung Khanh Linh was able to confidently say to the audience and herself: "I don't feel lonely anymore because we have each other already", "Linh's dream of singing among ten thousand people has come true"...
Phung Khanh Linh's "Between Ten Thousand Tours" concert will continue for another night and will take place on August 9 in Hanoi.
