Breast cancer is a serious burden of disease in Vietnamese women, when 50% of patients face psychological stress, anxiety, depression and have a high need for information, nutrition, psychological, and financial support.
Late diagnosis is still common, with 15% of patients under the age of 40 and 45% under the age of 50 being detected at the metastasis stage. However, the early detection rate (stage 0-I-II) has increased from 52.4% in 2008-2020 to 76.6%. According to experts, early diagnosis helps the 5-year survival rate reach 90%, the young group can exceed 80% after 10 years.
Responding to the Month of Raising awareness of breast cancer, on October 20, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital in collaboration with AstraZeneca Vietnam launched the program "Sted up together", building a community to connect, share and support patients mentally. Previously, AstraZeneca accompanied the Bright Tomorrow Fund, K Hospital and the Vietnam Cancer Association to implement treatment support projects and update national cancer diagnosis instructions.
