On May 18, Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital put into operation a new medical examination and treatment facility after being handed over by Nguyen Trai Hospital and licensed to operate by the Department of Health.

This is the surplus assets after the Clinic under the Department of Health Protection of City officials moved to a new location at Nguyen Trai Hospital. The reception of the new facility at No. 54/1 - 56 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Xuan Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City helps Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital expand the examination and treatment space, reducing overload at the existing examination area which is always crowded with patients.

Immediately after receiving it from May 15, the hospital urgently renovated facilities, completed legal procedures and rearranged the medical examination and treatment process in a one-way direction to create convenience for people.

In the initial phase, the new facility is expected to receive about 500 patient visits per day. Professional activities are being implemented including pediatric examination, retinal pathology examination, outpatient glaucoma treatment, receiving intraocular injection dossiers and performing paraclinical services for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment.

According to records on the first day of operation, waiting times for examination have been significantly reduced, and the reception and waiting areas are more spacious than before. Many patients assess that medical examination and treatment at the new facility is more convenient.

Ms. L.T. K. (65 years old, residing in Dong Thap) said that the examination and intraocular injection process took place quickly, no longer the crowded situation as before.

In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital plans to continue to expand outpatient activities, develop continuous training and research and deploy a simulated surgery training center with a pharmaceutical preparation room according to the Ministry of Health standards.
